Great staff, great breakfast and beautiful views from the room. Only complaint would be that my room was incredibly hot. I opened up the window and that barely helped. For the life of me I couldn't find a way to cool the room down. Overall an excellent stay.
We stayed at Fosshotel when we first arrived in Iceland. It was also where we chose to spend the last nights before we departed. This hotel did not disappoint!! The hotel was clean. The beds were comfortable; on the softer side which suited our preference. The rooms have darkening shades which helps adapt to the long days and short nights in May. Their breakfast was delicious; offering a great assortment of fruits, meats, cereals and fresh breads, and a proper cup of coffee. The breakfast staff is extremely attentive. Fosshotel was within walking distance (15 to 30 minutes) of wonderful restaurants, bakeries and the city center for shopping and browsing. It is a convenient base for exploring Reykjavik. Our bus transfer to The Blue Lagoon from Fosshotel was only a few minutes away. The staff of Fosshotel was friendly and did everything they could to make sure our stay was the best! I would highly recommend for anyone traveling to Iceland.
Wonderful experience staying here for a long weekend. We stayed in the tower and had breathtaking views of the mountains, water and city. Staff was amazing and rooms were great! We did ask for a table fan as we tend to like the room on the cooler side - the staff brought us a fan within minutes of us getting to the room. Between that and opening the window, we were super comfortable! Yes, the rooms are not air-conditioned, but really the climate does not require it...
Decent hotel in a quiet area. Rooms are well equipped, staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and probably the most extensive buffet I've had during my travels to Iceland. The beer garden is very nice too. I had a standard double room. Bathroom was a bit cramped since it has both a bath and a walk-in shower. The windows had really good blinds making the room completely dark. Only a small portion of the window will open and I found the room generally too warm with that window open and the heating off. The bed was very uncomfortable, extremely soft, warm and basically 2 single beds made as a double bed, so you have a gap in the middle. The floor was quite dirty, a lot of dust and debris. Other than that I had a good stay, but will most likely not return due to the uncomfortable bed and poor sleep I got as a result.
Hotel location was great. I could see the water from my room window. There’s bus stop in front of the hotel. Breakfast buffet was phenomenal and staff was quick and friendly. The room is big and love the high ceilings not only in the rooms but also in the hallways. Lobby on each floor. The heated bathroom floor was my favorite! Got to see the northern lights on our first attempt. Highly recommend this hotel if you want plenty of room and comfortable bed.
