What an amazing place! We travel to eat traditional food and this did not disappoint. We usually reserve but we walked in last minute and thankfully we had a table - it does get busy so don’t be like us and reserve if you can. The food was delicious. We did the set tasting menu and everything was perfect. The portions were huge. The skyr cheesecake was amazing. Definitely recommend and would come back.
Wow. This was probably my favorite meal in Reykjavik. We didn’t have a reservation but host was happy to give us a table for three even though restaurant was very busy. Ordered the three course menu and tagliolini with cod and prawns. Everything was 10/10. The lamb shank was melt in your mouth tender and the pasta had a delicious flavor with fresh seafood. Now the dessert. I think the skyr cheescake was top three best desserts I have ever eaten. I almost licked the plate clean. From presentation to flavor this restaurant does not disappoint. You 100% need to come here!!!
Had a great dinner here during our trip to Iceland. We ordered the Icelandic Arctic Char and the Lamb Shank, and both were excellent. The Arctic Char was incredibly tender and flaky while still tasting fresh and light. If salmon were this tender, it would usually feel quite rich and fatty, but this fish remained delicate and refreshing. The portion was surprisingly generous too, with two sizable pieces of fish. The Lamb Shank was huge. Unlike some slow-braised versions that fall completely apart, this one still had a nice meaty texture while being tender enough to enjoy easily. The sauce paired with it was delicious and really brought the dish together. Overall, the portions were much larger than expected for a restaurant of this style. We left completely full. The total came to around $62 per person, which felt like good value considering the quality, portion sizes, and Iceland prices. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for modern Icelandic cuisine with generous portions.
My partner and I had dinner here and we loved it! We ordered the cod with cheese for entree which was amazing, we shared it and were fighting over the last bite! Then we ordered the seafood soup and arctic char, both were lovely. You can order a small or large soup, I had a large soup which was a good portion as a main meal. The bread and salt butter you get is also delish, loveeed the salt butter! Would definitely recommend eating here. I’d recommend booking in advance as it gets quite busy
Good reviews on Google and many people said good things about this place. We made a reservation and it was the right thing to do, they were busy. For starters we had the baked cod which was really tasty. For mains the Icelandic lamb and the Icelandic char which were both cooked to perfection. Nice Chardonnay to go with it and I also had an old fashioned, my favourite cocktail. We were served by Viola who was amazing and all the staff were great so thank you guys we will be back.
