This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are small. The staff is excellent! DO NOT STAY HERE if you want to sleep. Iceland has a strong drinking culture which is embraced by it's young people. This hotel is located directly across the street from The Irishman Pub which stays open until 1am weekdays and 3am on weekends. The noise from the bar and it's patrons is horrific. The party spills out on to the streets and carries on well after 3am. The bar customers are clearly narcissists as they have no regard for anyone but themselves. It's too bad as this could have been a nice stay. Check out noise complaints before booking your stay in Reykjavik.
While the location downtown is convenient, the bar across the street gets very loud on Friday nights and stays loud until the wee hours of the morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. They allowed us to check in early after our flight. Our room was small and worn. The breakfast was bare minimum; cold items of not the best quality. Overall a good stay at a good price.
Great location! If you book your stay at Klöpp you will be minutes away to so many bus stops, like 6, 5, 14 as well as a cinema, many cafes, bars and restaurants right next to you. That being said, on nights like Friday and Saturday the locals tend to have a good time and stay up late, so use ear plugs and you’ll be just fine. The breakfast was great, I enjoyed the local Skyr a lot. Their pastries were very delivious. Farooq was a very kind and friendly fellow who helped me about everything I needed to know about Reykjavik. I joined many trips and every time I was glad I was staying here, because I was very close to all pickup bus stations. Everything was great-definitely recommended!
Nice hotel in an ideal location in downtown close to the shops in Laugavegur and bus stops. Reception was friendly and were helpful to answering any questions or requests we had during our stay. Rooms were small and basic but good if you're just using it as a place to rest during the night. Be aware that the rooms are not very soundproofed and that you may hear noise from the bar located across the street late at night especially on weekends.
Location was central and absolutely perfect. The bed was comfy and our room was huge. The staff, absolutely CANNOT fault. The reception, all of them, warm, friendly, remembered our names and gave us some amazing tips for places to visit with our 2 year old daughter, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was really nice and varied slightly day to day on options. Will definitely return.
