The Tremolo Beer Gut was formed after Sune Wagner (The Raveonettes & Psyched Up Janis) and Yebo (Heavy Trash, THAU, Junior Senior, etc.) was listening to old surf tapes in a tour bus. They wondered why there had been no surf bands in Denmark since the famed and feared OK Kings split up several years earlier. 'It's a great job, and somebody's gotta do it!' they thought and immediately came up with a name and a concept for the band and invited their friends Jengo (Trains and Boats and Planes) and Per Sunding (Eggstone) along for the ride. The Great Nalna (Heavy Trash, THAU, Tothe International) was hired as the producer and live sound engineer and later took over the lead guitar chores when Sune hit paydirt with The Raveonettes. The dream team that you hear on this LP, was formed. Incidently Yebo and Nalna are also co-owners of the CRUNCHY FROG label.
The Tremolo Beer Gut plays ”old school surf’n’western”. The members share a love of garage rock’n’roll, surf and movie scores from composers such as John Barry, Henry Mancini, Lalo Schifrin, Ennio Morricone etc. The band sticks to certain dogma such as always recording on great looking microphones, analogue equipment and tape – old style. They also have used the same photo for all their record sleeves since the very first single in 1999 under the motto: Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke - and don’t break it if you can’t fix it.
The TBG has released 4 studio albums and recently also the live LP Live, Beyond Our Means.
