Go on a 9-day self-drive adventure through Iceland's diverse landscapes. From the rugged South Shore with its majestic waterfalls to the glaciers of Vatnajökull National Park. Explore the scenic East Fjords and the geothermal marvels of Lake Mývatn. Discover the rich history of Borgarfjörður and the geological diversity of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Experience the iconic sights of the Golden Circle, including Þingvellir National Park and Gullfoss waterfall. Day 1: Arrival Upon landing in Iceland, collect your rental car at the airport. Spend your first night in Reykjavík, the vibrant capital. Day 2: South Shore Drive along Iceland's south coast, starting with a visit to Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk behind the falls. Continue to Skógafoss, known for its powerful cascade. Explore Dyrhólaey for panoramic ocean views, including an arched rock. Visit Reynisfjara beach with its black sands and basalt columns. End the day in Vík í Mýrdal, known for its picturesque church and dramatic cliffs. Day 3: Vatnajökull National Park Head east from Vík to Vatnajökull National Park, home to majestic glaciers and the stunning Svartifoss waterfall. Visit Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, where icebergs float and wash ashore on a black sand beach. End the day in Höfn, known for its lobster and views of Vatnajökull. Visit Goðafoss waterfall before arriving in Akureyri, northern Iceland's largest town. Day 6: Borgarfjörður Drive west to Skagafjörður, known for its Viking history and horse breeding. Continue to Borgarfjörður, exploring Reykholt, Deildartunguhver hot spring, and Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls. Day 7: Snæfellsnes Peninsula Explore the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, known for its geological diversity. Visit Gerðuberg basalt columns, Ytri Tunga beach, and the fishing villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar. Visit Djúpalónssandur beach and Kirkjufell mountain.
