All basics covered - functional plumbing, comfy enough bed, blankets, no nonsense check-in process, free parking. Not a ton immediately available nearby should you be on foot but easy walks to get places.
We booked 2 apartments at the Urban Reykjavik apartment during the Solar Eclipse for an overpriced cost of $1000 per night each room. Understandable that everything was up-priced during the solar eclipse event. We had some issues when we tried to get into one of the rooms on arrival. Their support is thru WhatsApp chat and they've reset the code quickly - seems like they emailed us the wrong code. Glad they responded quickly. We stayed in room 313 ourselves which was small with dual bed - it was tight with luggage and husband. Bathroom is even tighter. No dining table or bathroom counter space , so we had to put everything on the oven/ kitchen counter. Pro: Location is in a quieter business area. Walk to Reykjavik center is about 35 min or 15 min drive. Free parking is a plus! Cons: Small room and tight bathroom. Room was warm - we are not able to adjust the temperature in the room either. No counter space. No space for luggage. There is gray Guest Storage cabinet in the hallway where you can grab towels since they didn't provide enough towels in the room when we arrived.
The room was great, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Only negative was that there was a lamp on the bench in the room that needed to remounted to the wall and a fan above the stovetop would have been helpful. I originally posted my review asking for specific details about where to park. I felt that the response was not specific enough but luckily I was not ticketed. There is no reception, just FYI. There is work being done on at the building currently. I was notified only the day before my visit. I am not a light sleeper though and I was not bothered. I was very happy with the value and location.
The rooms are impeccable, the service lovely, and the location is just a little weird for walking, while parking is a bit challenging here. I stayed here about three weeks while relocating to Iceland for work. A few notes: Parking on weekends and in the evenings is no problem, but getting a space in the middle of a work day can be a challenge. Just wait a couple hours and things clear up nicely. The guide they provide you answers nearly all your questions!! There is no front desk or anything, so definitely consult the guide, but if you have any questions you can email and get a rapid reply. I was an idiot and couldn't figure out the range, but the guide helped a lot. No laundry on site (that's in the guide) but there are nearby options. It's hard to tell from the photos but the dining area is legit a small one or two person table. Fine for me, since I was traveling alone, but if you're with a crew you might want to plan a majority of your group meals out. There's no real closet or drawers, so use the shelving above the bed to house your folded clothing if you're like me and dislike living out of luggage. Fresh towels as often as you need from the hall closets!! Yay!!
