I wholeheartedly agree with the others here who say it’s a great place for a visitor to mingle with the friendly locals and have a chat while sampling the burgeoning craft beer efforts in Iceland. While I prefer, the more traditional ales (red, amber, Belgian, Scottish, and Irish, this locale’s emphasis is on the trendy IPA market. Still not to be missed if you’re a beer lover visiting Iceland.
A small bar selling a good range of local beers. There was a friendly vibe, lots of chat and laughter, with a few beers to ease the social muscles. I spent a very pleasurable hour reading and soaking up the atmosphere over a nice beer.

A great place if you're a solo traveler! Conversation was easy to strike with staff and other visitors from all over. Their selection has tons of variety and I was especially amped to see a Cucumber Sour on the menu. It was fantastic and it drank like a Gose, which is a great thing! Try their Brenninvin! It was smooth and easy to drink neat!

Prices, as expected in Iceland, are on the higher side, but that’s the norm everywhere in Reykjavík. What you get in return is variety and the chance to try local brews that can be hard to find elsewhere. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, with enough character to keep it interesting without feeling too busy or overwhelming. The space itself is on the smaller side, so it can fill up quickly, especially on weekends or evenings when beer enthusiasts flock here. Seating can be limited, so arriving earlier is a good idea if you want a table. Overall, Micro Bar is a solid choice for anyone curious about Icelandic beer culture. It’s not the cheapest night out, but the variety, relaxed vibe, and central location make it one of the better spots in Reykjavík for a drink that feels both local and memorable.
