I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Sand Hotel. The room was super cozy and beautiful, but what made it unforgettable was the people. Big thanks to Zoë and Monika and literally everyone who helped me settled in! When I arrived, Zoë welcomed me with the most genuine warmth. We ended up having the best conversation about everything from Icelandic culture to things all around the world. It didn’t feel like a standard hotel interaction at all; it felt like catching up with an old friend. Honestly, literally every single staff member I encountered here was amazing. I guess that’s the magic of Iceland - bringing so many sincere, interesting, and like-minded souls together in one place. They truly made me feel at home, and Sand Hotel is the reason I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Reykjavik. I can't wait to come back!

Couldn't be happier with our hotel selection. The rooms are impeccable and spacious, the bed is insanely comfortable, the provided toiletries are wonderful (in love with the lotion), the breakfast is good, the staff is friendly, and the location is convenient walking distance to so much of Reykjavik. I highly recommend staying here. Tip: If taking day trips beyond Reykjavik, walk to the Bónus grocery shop near the hotel and stock up on snacks to avoid over-doing high priced restaurants.

The standard room is small, dark with a dingy bathroom. The furniture is tired with a lot of damage. Mould on the seals around the shower door. The rooms are not well sound insulated, you can hear the noise from the adjacent rooms. The phone in the room does not work so you will need to make the trip downstairs to talk to the receptionist about any issues. The front entrance of the hotel is in the pedestrian area, cars are not allowed to stop there. The road at the back of the hotel is higher up, you have to go up and down the stairs on the street, although you can enter the second floor if you have the key card. The breakfast is okay but you only get filtered coffee in a jug at the table. If you want any speciality coffee, you will have to pay extra. We had an early flight and they wanted to charge us extra to give us breakfast to takeaway, this was not the case in the other hotels we stayed in Iceland. If this hotel was rated two-three star, it would be ok but rated four star (Mr & Mrs Smith), not worth it.

Perfect Central Location, Thoughtful Service & a Lovely Stay in Reykjavik- I had a really pleasant stay at Sand Hotel by Keahotels and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Reykjavik. The location is absolutely perfect — it’s literally in town and beautifully centrally located, making it easy to explore everything on foot. Tour buses and the airport shuttle bus stop are also just a 5-minute walk away, which made getting around incredibly convenient. The service was kind and attentive. I had a small issue with the charging port in my room not working properly with my USB cable, but the team quickly helped by providing an adaptor, which I really appreciated. My room was comfortable and had a nice unexpected bonus — access to Netflix and Prime, which was a lovely surprise after long days out exploring. Breakfast was also very good, with a nice variety and a great way to start the day. And having the lovely Sandholt Bakery right below the hotel was such a treat — their cakes and coffee are absolutely delicious and definitely worth trying. Overall, a comfortable, well-located hotel with thoughtful service. I had a lovely stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Sand Hotel in Reykjavik. We were visiting from Indianapolis USA, and felt very comfortable here. The room was pretty small, but clean and comfortable. We expected the room to be smaller like this, so major concern there. The windows opened and we could hear the city noises, which we loved….the church bells, the birds, and the other things going on. It was peaceful and nice. The location is incredible, within walking distance of so many things. Liam was at the front desk a lot during our stay and was incredibly nice and helpful. The rest of the staff was also so nice and courteous. We highly recommend staying here.
