We had the premium tasting menu and left disappointed. The quality of the seafood was excellent, but the menu felt more like a collection of popular dishes than a showcase of the chef’s vision. The soft-shell crab and cheesecake were highlights, but the sushi rice was underwhelming, the beef tataki was a bit tough, and several dishes lacked the refinement we expected for the price. The biggest disappointment was the pacing—we were served the entire tasting menu in about 45 minutes, making the experience feel rushed rather than enjoyable. Friendly service, but overall the tasting menu didn’t justify the cost. I’d consider returning to order à la carte, but I wouldn’t recommend the tasting menu.
The name of the place is all about fish, so go for the fish, every fish dish was really good. The tasting menu was good too, but I’d skip the one meat option and swap in another fish dish instead. I’d recommend going à la carte and choosing what you like (fish). Dessert was quite generous, by that point I was already full to bursting.
We had a great time dining here, the food is super good and fresh, definitely go for the fish. The miso black cod is some of the best I’ve ever had. Our server Jóhann was great, highly recommend it.
It is expensive, think 70-100 USD for entrees. 30 or so for appetizers. Both are fine as the food is exceptional and the service as well. We had super fresh fish dishes. The potatoes appetizer was great (and large sized, and the cheapest thing on the menu!). The atmosphere is dark moody cool. We recommend Fish Market.
Without doubt the best place to have sumptuous dinner in one corner of Reykjavik that has quality, ambience and style. The five course dinner menu was the best we had that included delicious dishes served at the right temperature. The wine and drinks selection is vast and they really know how to serve.
