BEST. FISH. AND. CHIPS. EVER. I’m not even a big fish person, and this was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. I like to squeeze the lime over everything—fish and fries—it’s phenomenal. The cider was also delicious. It’s right on the harbor, literally in front of the whale tour area, which is how we found it. We honestly expected it to be super busy or overpriced because of the location, but it wasn’t at all—both times we went, it was surprisingly super calm, hardly anybody else there and very reasonably priced. Our group tried a mix of things the first time (fish and chips, salmon, even buffalo cauliflower), and everything was good—but the fish and chips completely stole the show. We all ended up going back just for that and we all ordered it again. It was actually our last meal before leaving the country. Also, the portions are solid—the food looks smaller in photos, but it’s just a big plate. Seriously, you’ve got to stop here and try it.

A nice pub right on the harbour, several tours use this as a check in base not always obvious outside for you to find and can cause confusion where to go for your boat trips. The bar had nice beer and a decent selection of meals to choose from. The staff were chatty and pleasant and went out of there way to cook the Salmon for us. Huge TV screens showing amazing 4k footage of Iceland while enjoying your food and drink in a warm pleasant feeling environment. Toilets ok not the best but good enough.

This has to be the best restraunt locally for good quality local fish, food and drinks. Me and my partner came here after spending well over £100 a restraunt at other places and we ended up having fish and chips together. It was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had in my life and living by the coast in Kent back in the UK I’m very familiar with good and bad cod but this was beyond amazing. I spoke with the head chef and I told him just how well done our meals were and that he should be very proud of his skills whilst the staff at the bar were very friendly. We spent around 8000isk which is around £45 at the time on two main meals, a hot dog and two drinks which is the cheapest restraunt we’ve ate at locally in Reykjavík. Thank you once again to the staff and head chef at this amazing establishment !! :)

Old Harbour House was an excellent stop for food during our time in Reykjavík. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and hit the spot after a long day out. We had the salmon, which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, along with the lobster soup, which was rich, creamy, and incredibly comforting. We also couldn’t resist trying two Icelandic hot dogs with fries, and they lived up to the hype. Simple, flavorful, and very satisfying. The portions were generous, the food was fresh, and everything came out hot and well prepared. It’s a great mix of local favorites and hearty comfort food, making it an easy place to please everyone in your group. Overall, fantastic food in a cozy, casual setting. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or a warm sit-down meal, Old Harbour House is definitely worth a visit.

My twin and I got the hot dogs and absolutely loved them. They were made in a matter of minutes and were delicious with 2 types of sauce on it and crispy pieces on the top. They cost 750kr each. The restaurant itself is a cosy setting overlooking the water. I would highly recommend coming here.
