Description
Start the tour at 9 AM with hotel pickup in Reykjavik, then travel along the South Coast. En route, observe the Westman Islands and dramatic landscapes of the Reykjanes Peninsula.
Stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which drops 60 meters over a cliff. Walk behind the waterfall for an immersive experience and bring waterproof clothing to stay dry.
Next, visit Skógafoss waterfall, 60 meters high and fed by two glaciers, Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. You can view it from both the base and the top.
Lunch options include Skógafoss Bistro Bar near the waterfall or several cafes and restaurants in the town of Vik, about 30 minutes further along the coast.
Continue to Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, known for its volcanic black sand, basalt columns, and Reynisdrangar sea stacks. Exercise caution near the water due to dangerous sneaker waves.
Finish at Dyrhólaey promontory, featuring a natural rock arch, scenic views of the coast and sea stacks, and a historic lighthouse. During summer, puffins and seabirds nest in the area; binoculars are recommended.
