Description
Discover key sites of Iceland’s Golden Circle on this comfortable small-group tour departing from Reykjavik. Traveling with fewer people allows more time at each stop and a relaxed pace throughout the day. As you leave the city, the landscape changes to wide valleys, lava fields, and peaceful countryside, while your guide shares insights into Iceland’s history, nature, and culture.
The tour begins at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can walk between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. You will also see the Öxarárfoss waterfall nestled among cliffs and lava rock. The journey continues to Efstidalur II, a family-run farm offering a glimpse of Icelandic rural life before visiting the geothermal wonders nearby.
At the Geysir geothermal area, watch the Strokkur geyser erupt every few minutes, spraying hot water high into the air. Next is Gullfoss waterfall, where glacial water plunges into a deep canyon, sometimes creating rainbows in the mist. The tour includes a visit to Friðheimar Tomato Farm, showcasing year-round tomato cultivation inside heated greenhouses despite Iceland’s cold climate.
Before returning to Reykjavik, explore the vibrant Kerið Crater Lake, a volcanic crater with red rock slopes and a bright blue lake. To get the most from the day, bring warm layers, waterproof clothing, comfortable walking shoes, and a camera. The tour runs daily in English and on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays in Spanish (except summer when Spanish tours are daily).
