Description

On day one, start the tour in Reykjavík and head out on the open road along the south coast of Iceland. Your first sightseeing stop is at the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, followed by the Skógarfoss waterfall. You will be able to walk up the staircase to get a better look at the scenic waterfall. The next stop is at the Reynisfjara black sand beach, one of the gems of the south coast. At the black sand beach you can see Dyrhólaey Island and the Reynisdrangar peaks. Last but not least you will see the basalt column cave located on the beach. Next, drive to the coastal village of Vík where the tour will stop for a lunch break. From Vík travel further east in the direction of the Vatnajökull National Park, the largest national park in Europe and the home of the Vantajökull glacier, the largest glacier in Europe. Stay there for the night at a hotel in Skaftafell. Start day two with a 3-hour Ice Cave on one of Vatnajökull's outlet glaciers, exploring the many amazing formations to be seen. You will be guided by professional glacier guides and equipped with all necessary equipment. You'll have a well-earned lunch stop after the glacier hike. The next stop of the day will be at Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, where you can explore the lagoon from shore, filled with icebergs and seals. From there you'll head back to Reykjavík and arrive back around dinner time.
