Description
Begin with a visit to the 6500 year old Kerið volcanic crater. Then spend about two hours relaxing at the Secret Lagoon, Iceland’s oldest thermal pool, recently renovated for comfort and tranquility. Afterward, continue to the Geysir Geothermal Area known for its erupting hot springs, followed by Gullfoss waterfall, a dramatic two-tiered cascade and one of Iceland’s largest waterfalls.
The final stop of the day is Thingvellir National Park, both historically significant as the site of Iceland’s original parliament and geologically notable for the visible separation of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates at Álmannagjá canyon.
After returning to Reykjavik for dinner and downtime, join the evening Northern Lights safari. Expert guides will search for clear skies and aurora displays while sharing traditional Icelandic stories.
