Itinerary
Day 1: Begin with pickup in Reykjavík, then visit Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue to the Geysir geothermal area to see erupting geysers including Strokkur. Visit Gullfoss waterfall, Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, and Reynisfjara black sand beach before settling in at a South Coast hotel.
Day 2: After breakfast, explore Vík with its black sand beaches and scenic views. Have lunch in Vík, then visit Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon. Continue to Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon and nearby Diamond Beach. Overnight in Höfn.
Day 3: Visit Djúpivogur fishing village, have lunch in Egilsstaðir, and explore Borgarfjörður Eystri puffin colonies in summer (or fishing villages in winter). Stay overnight in Egilsstaðir.
Day 4: Discover Stuðlagil Canyon’s basalt columns. Visit Dettifoss waterfall, Námaskarð geothermal area, Dimmuborgir lava fields, Skútustaðagígar pseudocraters, and Goðafoss waterfall. Overnight in Akureyri.
Day 5: Tour Akureyri, then visit Borgarvirki volcanic plug, Hvítserkur rock formation, and Kolugljúfur canyon. Overnight in Laugarbakki.
Day 6: Hike Grábrók volcanic crater, visit Hraunfossar waterfalls, an Icelandic horse farm, and Deildartunguhver hot spring. Return to Reykjavík for the final night.
Day 7: Explore Snæfellsnes Peninsula along the western coast, then return to Reykjavík in the evening.
