Description

Board a modern bus from Reykjavík equipped with free Wi-Fi, USB chargers, and a GPS-activated audio guide available in 10 languages through a downloadable app. Learn interesting facts about Iceland and the landmarks en route while staying connected.

The tour begins with a drive through lava fields near the active Hengill volcano, continuing south through coastal farmland. On clear days, you can see Hekla volcano and the glacier-capped Eyjafjalljökull volcano towering above nearby mountains. You may also spot the volcanic Westman Islands just off the coast.

Stop at Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, notable for its 60-meter height and a hidden pathway behind the waterfall. Next, visit Skógafoss Waterfall where a short stair climb reveals one of Iceland’s scenic views. Then proceed to Sólheimajökull Glacier before reaching Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. Observe the Atlantic Ocean waves crashing on the black sands and view the jagged basalt sea stacks and columns offshore.

The tour continues to the southernmost village of Vík, located on Iceland’s main ring road. Despite a small population of 291 residents, Vík is the largest settlement for 70 kilometers.

Return to Reykjavík to rest before reconvening in the evening for a guided search for the Northern Lights. While sightings depend on weather conditions and cannot be guaranteed, the experienced guides monitor daily forecasts and only depart when there is a high chance of success.

Specially trained Northern Lights guides provide photography tips and ensure safety during the approximately 3-hour night excursion. Dress warmly as you will be outdoors in cold conditions.
