Description
This 2-day guided tour starts with visits to three waterfalls: Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, and the lesser-known Gljufrabui. You will have a stop to purchase lunch during the day.
Travel beneath Eyjafjallajökull volcano and the Mýrdalsjökull glacier cap, where you can join an optional 1.5-hour glacier hike on Solheimajokull Glacier with provided safety equipment.
Walk along Reynisfjara beach, known for its black sand, crashing waves, hexagonal basalt columns, and towering rock stacks. After overnight accommodation in the Icelandic countryside, continue to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon.
At Jökulsárlón, choose an optional 1.5 to 2-hour guided glacier hike or an amphibious boat tour on the lagoon to see icebergs calving from the Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier. Observe seals swimming near the floating ice.
The tour concludes with visits to the turf-roofed Hofskirkja church and the Fjadrargljufur River Canyon, formed thousands of years ago during a glacial period.
