Description
This full-day tour covers Iceland’s iconic south coast, featuring powerful waterfalls, glaciers, and volcanic black sand beaches. Your first stop is Seljalandsfoss, a 65-meter waterfall where you can walk behind the cascading water. Bring a raincoat as you may get wet.
Next, visit Skógafoss, a 25-meter wide waterfall with a 60-meter drop. Climb the stairs for panoramic views of the coast and surrounding glaciers. The nearby cave is linked to local legends, adding to the site’s mystique.
Stop at Reynisfjara beach to see the striking basalt columns, sea stacks, and black sand. In summer, watch for puffins nesting on the cliffs. This is a prime location for photography and nature observation.
Continue to Vík, Iceland’s southernmost village, where you can photograph the red-roofed church overlooking the coastline and mountains.
The tour then reaches Sólheimajökull Glacier, an outlet of Mýrdalsjökull between two volcanoes. After a 15-20 minute walk from the parking lot, observe the glacier’s vivid blue ice and crevasses up close.
