Description
The Snæfellsnes Peninsula features every major natural element that defines Iceland, such as waterfalls, glaciers, volcanoes, lava fields, cliffs, and diverse wildlife.
The tour begins with a visit to the impressive Gerduberg basalt columns, formed in near-perfect hexagonal shapes. You will explore small towns and fishing villages, admire bird cliffs at Arnarstapi, and have lunch at a local restaurant known for its lamb soup.
After lunch, the tour continues to Ytri Tunga beach to observe seals in their natural habitat. Weather permitting, you can try lifting the Stones of Trial at Djúpalónssandur beach. The tour concludes with a stop at Kirkjufell Mountain, accompanied by a nearby waterfall, a popular photography spot featured in Game of Thrones.
The route encircles the Snæfellsjökull glacier volcano, visible from several viewpoints along the journey.
