Description
The tour begins with a 20-minute ferry ride from Reykjavík's old harbor to Viðey Island. A captain and guide will welcome you aboard, followed by a guided walk to the Imagine Peace Tower, including stops to explore its background and surrounding nature.
The Imagine Peace Tower illuminates Reykjavík’s evening sky annually from 9 October (Lennon’s birthday) to 8 December (the anniversary of his death), as well as during the Winter Solstice to New Year, one week around the Spring Equinox, and on selected other dates.
You will hear about the significance of this work by Yoko Ono and John Lennon’s peace campaign. Weather conditions influence the Tower’s brightness and intensity, and you may witness the Northern Lights if conditions allow.
