  • Gullfoss waterfall and Kerið volcanic crater
  • Friðheimar farm showcasing geothermal green energy for fresh produce
  • Sky Lagoon with a seven-step Ritual experience for relaxation

Description

The tour begins with a free pickup service in central Reykjavik before heading into the Icelandic countryside. Your first stop is Kerið, a volcanic crater formed over 1000 years ago. You can walk along the crater rim or descend steps to the lake, both offering great photo opportunities.

Next, visit Friðheimar farm, a geothermally heated greenhouse and horse farm. Here you will meet the small Icelandic horse and watch a horse show demonstrating their unique gaits. Then enjoy a guided tour of the greenhouse where tomatoes and cucumbers are cultivated on a large scale.

Explore the Geysir geothermal park, home to the original Geysir. While Geysir erupts infrequently, the nearby Strokkur geyser erupts every 7-10 minutes. A walk around the area reveals bubbling hot springs and distinctive sulfur smells in the air.

A short drive from Geysir is Gullfoss waterfall on the Hvitá river, fed by meltwater from Langjökull glacier. You will hear the mist from the falls before seeing them. Walking paths offer options to view the falls either from above or down near the water.

Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is your next stop. It was the site of Iceland’s ancient parliament and is where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates visibly drift apart. Walk between the continents and observe this unique geological feature.

The tour includes a visit to Sky Lagoon, one of Iceland’s popular geothermal lagoons. Your Pure Pass grants access to the infinity pool with sea views and the complete seven-step Ritual experience, which features a sauna with floor-to-ceiling sea views, body scrub, cold plunge pool, and steam bath.

Note that the order of stops may vary for logistical reasons, and some days may begin at Sky Lagoon.
