Description
The tour begins in Reykjavík with a scenic drive through the Reykjanes Geopark, a UNESCO-listed area known for volcanic and geothermal activity. The first stop is the Seltún Geothermal Area, featuring bubbling mud pools, steaming vents, and colorful mineral deposits.
Next, visit Fagradalsfjall, one of Iceland’s newest volcanic sites. A 45-minute, 5.5 km (3.4-mile) hike leads through lava fields still warm from recent eruptions. This moderately challenging hike offers photo opportunities and panoramic views of fresh lava flows.
Continue to Grindavík, a village shaped by volcanic activity. Explore tectonic rifts and learn how the community has managed lava flows over time.
The tour ends with comfort admission to the Blue Lagoon. Relax in its mineral-rich, milky-blue waters surrounded by lava fields. Guests receive a silica mud mask and one drink from the Blue Lagoon bar.
