Good location that is only a short walk from downtown Reykjavik and it’s not too far from a couple of Bonus grocery stores too, which makes it nice and easy to stock up. There was plenty of parking available (both in front and behind the property), which is reserved for guests, so there’s no issue with finding a spot after a long day out. The check-in process was easy and a code was supplied a day before we arrived. We did encounter an issue on the second day where our code wasn’t working, but it was quickly resolved thanks to the 24/7 support available on the intercom at the front door. The room itself had a well equipped kitchenette, with pods for the coffee machine also supplied, and was a great size for two people.

We stayed at the Oddson Hotel in July 2025. We were given a door key via email and the room was very clean and well-equipped (kitchen included). The hotel granted us a small discount on the bakery next door which was good. The huge benefit was that you can reach almost the entire city by foot.

What a Great little studio apartment! Fully equipped kitchenette ( including a great little dishwasher). Parking was right outside and walking into Reykjavik centre was easy peasy! The bed was comfy and I liked the fact that they were deep pillows. The bakery/cafe next door is lovely and can recommend the multi grain loaf! Great little find.

ODDSSON Downtown is a solid, no-frills stay and generally met expectations, but there are a few real downsides. Check-in was a pain because the hotel didn’t send the access/check-in details ahead of time. Since it’s a self check-in property, you can’t even enter the building without that info. Standing outside in January in Reykjavík wind with luggage is not fun. The room was fine overall, but Wi-Fi coverage in Room 206 was weak, and the layout could be better. There’s limited closet/storage space, and the TV placement felt awkward. Another issue: the bathroom has a sliding door that doesn’t fully seal and there’s a gap, so privacy is limited. If you’re sharing the room with friends, someone may need to step out for the other person to use the bathroom comfortably. The kitchenette is a big plus—fully equipped and very useful if you’re staying more than a couple of days because eating out in Reykjavík is expensive. Best feature of the hotel: the bakery next door. There’s a direct interior door between the hotel and the bakery, so you can grab breakfast without bundling up. Location is walkable to downtown, though if you can find a hotel a few minutes farther west (closer in), that would be even more convenient.

Rooms very tidy and clean. Great idea to have a large cupboard on each floor to be able to help yourself to towels, pillows, tea, sugar etc. Slightly noisy at a night time, nothing to with the hotel, outside on the main road, just traffic really. They do however provide earplugs, which is a bonus if your a light sleeper. Staff over so kind, they are normally available for breakfast and evenings. Location even though in Reykjavik, is just under an hours walk to the city centre where everything is much busier. We got a taxi down and didnt realise , but for about a 7 or 8 minute trip this cost between £25 to £30. It was our 1st time to iceland but it wouldn't put us off, think we would stay at the city centre next time just for convenience. Would definitely recommend this hotel though if not bothered about going into the centre or walking. Breakfast was great, continental. Reykjavik excursions pick you up and drop you off right outside the hotel, which is bus stop 16a. Overall this is a great hotel. Already planning our next trip. Thank you
