Description
This caving adventure starts with a pick-up in Reykjavik, at Bus stop #8 (parking lot of Hallgrimskirkja), and leads through the beautiful Icelandic landscape to the Arnaker Lava cave. The Arnarker cave is a more unknown 500 m-long lava tunnel. In comparison to the well-known 'Lava tunnel', this cave is more natural and more adventurous—a true caving experience in a very small group of up to 6 people. Led by a professional geologist you will learn everything about the cration on lava tunnels and volcanism in Iceland. During winter, you can discover stunning ice formations along the countless geological features. Bad weather condtions do not impact the tour and can take place all year around. We will provide all necessary equipment like helmets, headlamps, and gloves. Things to know before you book: You need to be in good physical shape and have a good balance. There is no 'man-made' path inside the cave, climbing over boulders is in most parts necessary. Hiking boots with ankle support are necessary and we also recommend a waterproof jacket (water can drop from the ceiling). The temperature in the cave rarely excited 4°C (even in summer) - dress warm The age limit for this tour is 15 - 65.Includes
