Kringlan Shopping Centre is conveniently located close to downtown Reykjavik, situated near the city theatre, the state broadcasting service and the commercial college of Iceland. It first opened in 1987 as the first big shopping centre in Iceland. It was an instant hit, and has maintained it's popularity ever since. It has successfully expanded over the years and now it stands at 50.000 sq.m., equipped with 150 shops and services, including a multiplex cinema, a seven outlet food court and three themed restaurants.
Most people go to Kringlan for shopping, as it is filled with sophisticated fashion shops, hip boutiques, international brand name shops, jewellery stores, music stores, the liquour store, grocery stores, book shops, crystal ware, souvenir shops and an art gallery. For those who get hungry during their shopping sprees, the food court has several international fast-food chains such as Dominos, Sbarro and Subway. There are also restaurants that offer a bit more of a fine dining experience, and an internet café.
Entertainment for children is available in the form of „Adventure Land', where you can drop off your children and let them have all the fun playing air hockey, fooseball, basketball, putting on costumes and reading books while you shop in peace. Internationally known branches and labels in Kringlan include Next, Topshop, Zara, The Body Shop, Aveda, Vero Moda, Accessorize, Adidas, Evans, Levi's, L'Occitane, MAC, Karen Millen, United Colors of Benetton and Warehouse. Finally, there are several telephone services, a hair salon, doctors, a library, banks and a theater.
Whatever you need, Kringlan is the answer. Spend a day at Kringlan and get all your shopping over with in one place.
