Directions to Smaralind Shopping Center

With about 100 shops and restaurants on three floors, Smáralind - Iceland's biggest, most modern shopping center -  is an inviting place right in the middle of the metropolitan area. The relaxed 'plaza' ambiance, beautiful architecture and comfortable lighting will put you at ease and ensure that you will make Smáralind a regular destination on your visit to Iceland.

From Modus hair salon to the international newspapers at the Eymundsson bookstore, Smáralind has something to suit every taste. You can check out the design at the furniture and decor store Líf & list, go hunting for a leather purse at Drangey, or buy yourself glacier hiking gear at some Icelandic designers who specialize in outdoor wear. You can shop for engagement rings, design jewellery or watches at Meba Rhodium, Carat or Jón & Óskar Goldsmiths, to name just a few; some of their pieces are custom made and others are crafted from Icelandic minerals with themes inspired by Norse mythology. You will also discover a broad selection of restaurants and cafés in Smáralind, from take-away coffee to celebrity chef Jói Fel's high-end bakery, to TGI Friday's. Feel for something sweet after your meal? Hit up the local ice-cream store to sate your sweet tooth!

Let us entertain you

In Smáralind you will find Smáratívolí, the only indoor family entertainment center in Iceland. This amusement park has a lot of activities for all ages and is a great place to spend the day with your family and friends.

Enjoy any of the latest international films and a big bag of popcorn at Smárabíó premium cinema complex at the northern side of the shopping center. The Luxury Hall is an experience of its own: a first-class movie hall with high-end comfy chairs and top-of-the-line technology.

Smáralind is not just a mall, it's a place to socialise with other people and create new memories. There are regular events taking place, for instance fashion shows, entertainment for children, pop-up markets, hot musical numbers and many other awesome things.

World renowned labels

In Smáralind you will find a wide selection of world renowned brands. If you are looking for Levi's, Hugo Boss, Benetton, Zara, Topshop, Debenhams, Apple, Karen Millen, Evans, Nike, Dorothy Perkins,  Jack & Jones, Vero Moda, Pandora, Diesel, Vila, Iittala, Lindex, Esprit, Name It, Dressmann, SELECTED, Joe Boxer or Ecco, Smáralind is where you will find it. Enough said? Well, if you're wondering about the prices, let's just say you'll be pleasantly surprised.

You can get your prepaid tax-free refund at the service desk on the 2nd floor. You can also buy gift certificates, stamps and bus tickets or borrow a baby stroller or wheelchair for free. The gift certificates are electronic and can be used in pretty much all the shops in Smáralind.

Smáralind also has a place called Hnoðrakot, a cozy toddler-caring center with comfortable facilities to feed, comfort and take care of hygiene.

Smáralind is located in Kópavogur town, a mere 10 minute drive from Reykjavik's city center, whether by car or by bus. The shopping center can be easily reached from the city center by one of three different bus routes, route 1, 2 or 28.
