Akureyri Swimming Pool is a world class pool situated in the heart of the downtown Akureyri! With varied baths and facilities, it is fun for the whole family and there is definitely something for everyone.
Like almost all Icelandic swimming pools, the pool is naturally heated geothermal water, pumped straight out of the ground. It is a very special thing to dive into a giant heated swimming pool in the depth of winter, even looking up at snow flurries drifting past from the comfort of the pool. In summer the water is set to a comfortable warm-yet-refreshing temperature and it's awesome to lay by the pool and sunbathe.
Akureyri Swimming Pool has two swimming pools, two water slides, a splash-pool, an indoor pool, four hot-tubs of varying temperatures, a steam room, and a sauna. In the summer there is also a playground called the 'Family Park'.
