Oddur Golf Course
Reykjavik
The Iceland Odd Fellow Golf Club was founded in 1990 and in the following years the grand 18 hole par72 golf course was built, covering an area of 162 acres. The golf course is located in Urridavatnsdalir, which is in 15 minute driving distance from central Reykjavík. The Odd Fellow Golf Course was designed by golf course architect Hannes Thorsteinsson and was opened in August 1997. Hannes is a member of the British Institute of Golf Course Architects.
In the middle of the 9 holes of the main course you'll find Ljúflingur, a small and charming 9 hole par 3 course, which is suitable for beginners and those interested in the exercise of short play. There's a clubhouse by the course with a restaurant and a golf shop, as well with teaching facilities and a golf teacher.
In 1993 the Oddur Golf Club, an open golf club, was established and became a member of the Golf Association of Iceland so that the Odd fellow golf club could participate in national golf tournaments, and everyone would be able to enjoy the magnificent golf course. Both clubs have had gradually gained more and more members over the years, and the combined memberships of both clubs rank among the highest in the country.
We recommend that you book your round of golf early in the morning or the day before, because the course is very popular, particularly when the weather is good. While staying in Iceland, take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city to play golf, surrounded by nesting moor birds, harsh lava streams and green fairways of the Oddur Golf Course.
