Culinary experiences at Salt Eldhús involve participants in every aspect of the art of cooking -- you learn to prepare a 'mise-en-place', orchestrate a full meal and plate up your culinary creations. At the end, participants dine together and savor the delicious meals they have created along with their host.
Auður Ögn, founder of Salt - Kitchen, started the project to follow her dream; her passion for cooking and eating well which she had cherished since childhood and reinforced even further when she lived France for a length of time.
She wanted to create a beautiful space for entertaining foreign guests and introducing them to Icelandic cuisine and ingredients. She wanted to create a setting for an intimate evening or a relaxed morning, but first and foremost she wanted to share this passion for food, hoping to learn from every new guest that participated in their events.
