The Seal Center in Hvammstangi is a museum/exhibition and research center that works in close collaboration with the Seal Watching Boat Tour operator in the area, Selasiglingar.
They emphasize fun and informative exhibitions for children with installations about Seals of the North Atlantic and Arctic; Seal Biology and Skeleton; Seals in Icelandic Culture and History and the Seal Cinema with a documentary about Icelandic seals; as well as exhibitions dealing with birdlife, land mammals and marine life in northern Iceland. They also allow visitors to visit their live lab, where actual seal research is going on.
At the Seal Center it's possible to book a ride with the Seal Watching Boat Tour.
