Reviews
The staff were great and knowledgeable about the city. The hotel is located in a great location for the city center. Breakfast buffet was ok and located on the basement level. Rooms were fine - a little warm (July), could benefit from a fan. The problem is if you open the window to let some cool air in, the noise from the locals outside (especially at the weekend), is incredibly loud and seemed to go on until about 4-5am. Would stay here again but ask for a room away from the street.
One of the best hotels in Reykjavik no doubt. The location is perfect. There are parking spaces close and you have a small store and ice cream shop next door. You’re in the middle of the center but you don’t feel it. There is a taxi station in front of the hotel and the staff is very helpful. Only thing: it’s a big hotel so prepare for groups. The rooms are nice - towels very very small. But a great experience.
The Hotel has an ideal location, right at the end of a pedestrian zone. We had superior rooms, 6th floor backside. Rooms are really nice, not too big, tiny open wardrobe, one had a shower, one had bathtub. Breakfast is pretty much standard what you’d expect at a hotel, good quality. We really enjoyed our stay here!!
The hotel is in High demand and has hundreds of tourists walking through the revolving doors every week. The main strength of the hotel is its close proximity to almost everything. The bars, pubs and restaurants in Central Reykjavik are literally out the front door and the food hall is a 3 minute walk. If you organise one of Iceland's MANY tours to chase the Northern Lights or golden circle then bus stop #1 where they pick you up and drop off is a five minute walk. The service is also on point the staff are very helpful and diligent. I asked someone at the front desk to arrange for my room to be cleaned as I left late for the day and it was arranged promptly. Breakfast is also chilled out with a wide variety of hot and cold options, with pastries, fruits, cereal and really great coffee (which was better than brauð and co - the coffee not the pastry!) The hotel does not offer much else in terms of amenities, there is strong WiFi and conference rooms but no fitness centre or large bar. The standard rooms are very tight and compact to say the least, with large bed that was comfortable to be fair. But a small bathroom and plastic chairs. But it is a small price to pay for the location and convenience.
