Reviews
We stayed in a standard double room and were disappointed. The lobby is beautiful, but the room was outdated, with stains on the carpet, a tiny shower, no fridge, and an ordinary street view. Breakfast was average, and the coffee was served from a thermos. The only highlights were the comfortable bed linen, the Nespresso machine in the room, the convenient location, and the option to leave our luggage before check-in and after check-out. Overall, we don’t think this hotel offers good value for money (340euro).
Beautiful lobby and common areas. Friendly staff, very good breakfast. Our room was simple, but clean. Thin walls, with sound carrying loudly from other rooms and the street. The location is good: short walk to rainbow street and downtown Reykjavik
We had a great experience. The rooms were large and comfortable. One thing to keep in mind - no air conditioning, so open windows are a must for air flow and if you're on the street side as we were, it can be pretty noisy. We had a white noise machine which definitely helped, but something to keep in mind if you plan to keep the windows open. Staff was very friendly and we were able to find parking for our rental car each time we arrived for the evening. There are also a couple EV chargers in the parking area to the right of the hotel which was great for us since we rented an EV and got it charged up the night before we had to return it to the airport. Would definitely stay here again.
The Hotel Holt is a very cool old building with charming character and a beautiful lobby rich with art and warm wood paneling. The staff is incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful. The location is perfect - outside of the busyness but an easy walk to anything. The quality of the rooms is not quite what we expected for the price. The carpet seemed dirty and the rooms and bathrooms were very small. It is an old building so that makes sense, but some upgrades might be needed for the rooms.
There’s luggage service for early arrivals, the breakfast was very nice and staff are friendly/informative. It’s also very close to downtown so it’s convenient for getting around. I know a review mentioned the room being small , and yes this rooms is perhaps the smallest I’ve been in but it was not an issue since I was only there to sleep. Also the balcony view was nice! I would definitely stay here again.
