Ishestar - Reykjavik

The Lava Tour allows riders of mixed levels to be in the same group and the guides will split up mid-way through the tour to allow the more experienced riders to go at a faster pace. This is perfect for groups where each individual has a different level of experience with horses.

Directions to Ishestar

Located only about 10 minutes drive from Reykjavik, Íshestar has been a leading tour operator of riding tours since 1982. Ishestar riding tours place great importance on sustainable tourism offering quality tours in the unspoiled nature of Iceland.

Riding an Icelandic horse is something youhave to experience at least once in your life.

Ishestar´s program has something for every taste. The multi-day tours demands good riding skills and knowledge of horses, while the day tours with departure from their Riding Centre are well suited for people with little or none riding experience. Thus everyone has an opportunity to experience the nature of Iceland in an exquisite company of men and horses.

Riding tours are divided in three categories; day tours, countryside tours and highland tours. You can order a tour either on Ishestar´s website (above) or by contacting the sales office by phone. Although horse riding tours have been their main focus they are very pleased to offer a variety of different travel service for groups and individuals. See www.ihtravel.is.

From the very start of Íshestar we have placed great emphasis on quality, personal service and

the safety of our guests on all our riding tours. The great number of returning visitors is a clear indication of that great professionalism. Nevertheless they continually strive to enhance the quality and with the EarthCheck-certificate Ishestar continue to stress even further handling Iceland's nature in a responsible manner.
