We stayed at The Center Hotels Arnarhvoll in June 2026. We chose it primarily due to its location within walking distance of the city, boat docks, and bus stops. It has a good view of the harbor and music hall. The hotel itself seems to be a bit older, as it is showing cracks in the ceiling and some wear and tear on the room and furniture. The room was not very big, and had no air conditioning. The worse was the bathroom. It had this strange shower that was using the same floor as the entire bathroom. It had a plastic curved door that only kept water from hitting the bathroom door. There was a squeegee to use after, to slide water into the drain from the rest of the bathroom floor. The hot water had a slight sulfur smell from coming from the thermal springs and cold water from the mountain glaciers. The breakfast was an additional cost, and was good. They had hot and cold foods, including eggs, bacon, guacamole, donuts, fruit, pancakes, and other items. The view of the harbor was spectacular, as the breakfast is in the Sky Bar on the top floor of the 8 story hotel. The hotel was quite expensive for what we got, over $400 USD per night. However, the location was excellent for walking to where we needed to go within a 10 minute walk for activities, restaurants, and shopping. As this was our first visit to Iceland, I can recommend the hotel. Just don't expect a luxury experience for the price.

My now husband and I traveled to Iceland for our destination wedding in June 2026. We booked at Center Hotel Arnarhvoll through a recommendation through our wedding coordinator. From the moment we arrived, the staff was FANTASTIC. We want to give a special shoutout to Ellinor who was so kind and accommodating to us. She always took time to answer our questions and ensure our stay for our wedding was perfect. We had a lovely welcome treat waiting for us, access to the spa, and she was able to find me space to get ready for our big day in the hotel. All the staff was amazing - so kind and generous to us. The spa is something I would recommend adding. After a long day in Iceland, the small and quiet retreat to a hot pool and sauna is so relaxing. The rooms themselves are a little small, but we also were packing many items for the wedding. My only slight complaint was the shower situation. It was a tight space and squeegeeing the floor was an interesting experience, but did not detract from the stay at all. The views from the hotel were lovely, right against the harbor. It was in a great location for walkability to shops, restaurants, and the harbor for ant activities. We loved the SKY Bar. Great views, great cocktails (and happy hour!), and great staff. Another perk was the included breakfast every day - we ate there each morning and it was a great start! Big thanks to the hotel staff - you made our stay 5 stars!

I stayed here recently for a few nights in Reykjavík and had an amazing stay. They let me check in early for free after an overnight flight from Boston; so I was able to sleep for a few hours before enjoying some Saturday nightlife. The women behind the desk were extremely helpful when I went to the wrong bus stop (even though it was the same name...) and missed my shuttle. And the spa is awesome. Sauna and hot tub both get super hot. Plus the location is perfect. Only downsides were the room was small for what you pay and the rooftop bar that I thought would be awesome served me a Moscow mule that was probably 3 sips for $20 USD. All in all would stay here again, though.

Right at the front of the harbour in Reykjavik. It is Central to all of the shops behind close to the cathedral close to all the shopping amenities that you require close to all of the pickup points for the buses. It's a beautiful place. The views are absolutely stunning. The sky bar is stunning right opposite the opera House. It's just a really lovely place if you can get a room with a view. Amazing. Staff are fantastic 😍 The only thing that I will say if it doesn't come through on your package tool there is no 250 deposit. You pay taxes of $6,300 for two which isn't stated on the jet to holiday. That can take a massive chunk of expenditure money out of your pocket. Also, be careful that they don't apparently upgrade you to a single room when you've booked a double room. You also can't retrieve that information on jet. 2. Ask for a printout of what they are upgrading you to.
