Excellent place to stay. The central location meant that everything that we wanted to do in Reykjavik was within walking distance. We also enjoyed using the complimentary bicycles. The owners made great suggestions of where to ride the bikes and what to see. They were wonderful hosts. Our room was quiet, spacious, and comfortable. It was more of an apartment than a hotel room and we appreciated that the refrigerator was stocked with necessities. It was very nice to have some meals in the comfort of the room. I highly recommend Freya Guesthouse and I will stay in the guesthouse on future visits to Iceland.

Great location less than a block from bus stop #8 and the central Hxxxxx cathedral. Did not realize that we had booked the last room meaning it was the loft. Did not hear about the loft with the very steep stairs and sloping ceeling So I can only stand up in about 50% of the area including the bathroom. But it came with a nice small kitchenette good furnishings in a great view of the openable top glass vents. The owner did have their son take our bags up the stairs which are so steep almost be a ladder. All they accommodated us coffee bar next door that opens at 8:00 pizza place to walk away.

My friend and I stayed at Freyja Guesthouse and Suites from 24 to 27 October 2025. We truly enjoyed our stay. We arrived quite late after our tour, the host gave very clear instructions of how to check in, it’s all hassle free. Our room was perfect, it was on the first floor, in between shared bathroom and kitchen. Our room size was good, very clean and tidy. And really felt like home especially for the kitchen, it’s so convenient for travelers, got fridge, oven, water boiler and coffee maker. And kitchen was also very clean and neat. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Very convenient location, the nearest bus stop is bus stop no. 8 located at Hallgrimskirkja church that you can take Flybus to the airport. Walking distance to most attraction places in Reykjavik. Thank you for hosting us. Highly recommended!

I stayed at Freyja Guest house in October 2025 for attending a conference at Harpa Conference Centre. The management staff and especially Ingo communicates well in advance. Only issue I found was that they had common washrooms. I was not aware that common washrooms on other floors are also allowed to be accessed. The management staff was very helpful in providing guidance regarding local restaurants, laundry and arranging cab when needed. The room was good enough for a single person. Could be also fine for 2 people. I think they have a separate room arrangement for a bigger family. They had a nice relaxation room on the top floor with additional bathroom facility. They were providing sufficient towels and had common kitchen facilities as well. If you have time and energy to cook yourself you can avoid the pricey restaurants. The location seemed good considering its vicinity to bus terminal, local shops, restaurants and museums.
