“Hlemmur Suites had a very mixed experience. The check-in process was quite confusing, as we were not sent the access code until we called for help with the assistance of a nearby store staff member. The room itself was very clean and well maintained, and it was a nice bonus to have a kitchen with basic utensils and dishes, as well as a washing machine available. The location is also a big advantage, right in the downtown area close to the beach and main attractions. However, there were some downsides. Only two coffee pods were provided for two people for two days, and they were not refilled during our stay. The bathroom amenities were minimal, with only soap provided and no conditioner or lotion. Parking was also not available, so we had to use public parking overnight. Overall, while the facilities and location were good, the check-in process and lack of small conveniences made the stay less smooth than expected.”
I wholeheartedly recommend Hlemmur Suites in Reykjavik. The location is great because its right next to the stop 9 so getting on the buses is easy. Its right next to a food court which is really convenient along with the convenience stores next ro it. Its also right near the main shopping section with a straight shot to walking all the way down to more shops and restaurants. The room itself was very very clean and the sheets were crisp and clean. Response from management is quick and prompt. There are codes for entry to building and to the floor you are staying on. Bathroom was great. Blackout curtains dont fully black out and there is a full kitchen to save some money possibly. Worth the money.
Got my room number and access code in the last minute from Hlemmur Suites website. Self check in, no one in the building. Access code didn’t work the second day, can’t get back in to my room. The 24/7 service phone number was service restricted, unable to get help. Waited someone came out open door, to get in the building. It happened again in my last day staying, on my way out to airport. I was locked out with my luggage left in the room. It was a horrific experience.
Great apartment complex in the city center. Just a few walking minutes away from all major shops & restaurants. Great kitchen & bathroom. The beds were very comfy. Overall it was very good value for money. Some people complained about the self check-in which was very easy & smooth for us. Also parking was easy, but you have to consider the costs of it. Would stay here again!
