Excotic Indian spices meet fresh Icelandic ingredients
Austur-Indiafjelagid is owned by Chandrika and Gunnar Gunnarsson, who wanted to introduce the wonders of Indian cuisine to Icelanders. By combining exotic Indian spices with fresh Icelandic ingredients, Austur-Indiafjelagid is able to treat their costumers to unforgettable Indian food.
The spices used to season the food at Austur-Indiafjelagid are imported directly from India and blended on the spot by their team of highly experienced chefs. The Tandoori dishes on the menu must be mentioned, as the chefs at Austur-Indiafjelagid have truly mastered the art of Tandoori grilling. All tandoori dishes, with the exception of seafood, are served sizzling on a bed of onions, garnished with garlic oil and lemon juice. You can also try the Tandoori Mixed Grill dish. It allows you to taste a combination of the best from the Tandoori oven.
