Kringlukrain
Reykjavik
Look out for special offers like the pre-theater menu and discounts for opera ticket holders.
One of the cornerstones of Kringlan shopping centre is Kringlukráin. This established restaurant was first opened on March 1st, 1989, the day beer was legalized again in Iceland after a long prohibition. When it opened, it was a pub that served snacks and light courses. Since then Kringlukráin has evolved into a restaurant with a varied and sophisticated menu, where everyone should be able to find something to their liking. Kringlukráin strives to provide a friendly and family-oriented atmosphere where people of all ages can enjoy themselves.
On weekends Kringlukráin hosts dances, where many of the brightest stars of the Icelandic music scene have performed throughout the years. It's also an ideal venue for small concerts. On weekdays, Kringlukráin is a popular place to have a meal before a show at the City Theatre that's just around the corner. Of course, it's also popular as a sweet and short escape from the madness of the mall, a great place to sit down and charge your batteries after a shopping spree.
The menu is extensive but affordable and features light courses, appetizers, meat, fish, pasta, vegetarian dishes, desserts, sandwiches, burgers and pizzas. The hamburgers are recommended by critics all over and the salad pizza with Gouda, Mozzarella, ruccola, bell pepper, feta cheese, parmesan and balsamic vinegar is also a favourite among critics... and us!
Whether you need to grab a bite with your family at the mall or you are in the mood to have some fun on a Saturday night, Kringlukráin is always a safe and enjoyable choice.
