Eyjafjallajökull Volcano and Glacier Jeep Tour
4 ReviewsThere's nothing quite like standing on top of an active glacial volcano.
Torfan restaurant offers traditional French cuisine with a Nordic twist. It seeks a balance between traditional food and recent influences, and the outcome is a classical cuisine with a modern touch; the best Icelandic ingredients served in a nouvelle cuisine fashion.
The restaurant's name, 'Torfan', refers to its location on 'Bernhöfts-Torfa', a historical part of the town dating back to the very earliest days of the city centre. The house itself was built in 1838, and its wooden floors and walls emanate the rich history of the area. The row of buildings that make up Bernhöftstorfa showcases an important aspect of the architectural history of Reykjavík.
The interior of the restaurant has an elegant and eclectic ambiance while at the same time being homey and warm, with storied paintings and classical Icelandic ceramics on the walls, white tablecloths, and leather couches.
Reservations for individuals or groups can be made via telephone or email. Please note that reservations via email must be made two days prior to requested date.
Torfan restaurant prides itself in offering gourmet food and exceptional service in a historic atmosphere. If you want to enjoy a world-class meal in the heart of Reykjavík, surrounded by the city's rich history, Torfan is the place for you.
