Description

The tour starts by meeting up with you friendly airport staff and pilot at Reykjavik Domestic Airport, located only five minutes from the city center. The pilot will brief you shortly on the route before taking you onto the tarmac to begin your thrilling adventure ride. Once in the air you can enjoy the views of the capital area of Reykjavik as your pilots heads to the Reykjanes Peninsula. On you way you will see old lava fields that date back hundreds of years before you get to the most recent eruption site. There the pilot will fly you over the most recent eruption site in Iceland and guide you through the story of the area. Taking you from the massive craters that formed in the Fagradalsfjall/Geldingadalir eruptions in 2021 to 2022 to the most recent eruption site, Sundhnúkahraun, from March 202. But please keep in mind, that eruptions are a natural occurrence that may or may not be active during your visit, so there is no guarantee there will be visible lava during your flight. After circling over the lava fields and enjoying the the views from the the comfort of your helicopter, the pilot will head back to the capital, and if you know were to look, you might be able to see the president's home, Bessastaðir.
