The restaurant's owner, Einar Björn Árnason or „Einsi kaldi“, is a local, born and raised in Vestmannaeyjar. He greatly enjoys combining his innovation and skill to create the delicious seafood dishes he is known for. His interest in working with fresh fish is not really surprising considering the restaurant's location, so close to one of the country's most bountiful fishing grounds, giving him the opportunity to obtain fresh fish from the boats every day. Most of the restaurant's ingredients are locally sourced, such as cliff- and seabirds along with various herbs picked on the Island.
During the summer, Einsi kaldi and his team offer a diverse menu from lunchtime to evening, seven days a week. The lunch menu consists of light and fresh dishes, such as soup, meet and of course, fresh Icelandic fish. In the evening, variety is the name of the game and you can choose everything from appetizers to sumptuous meat and fish dishes, something for all tastes.
