Reviews
Grillmarkaðurinn was one of the best meals we had in Iceland. It is definitely on the expensive side, but we felt it was worth it. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavour, with great attention to detail. The atmosphere was elegant without feeling too formal, and the service was excellent throughout. If you are looking for a memorable meal in Reykjavík and do not mind spending a little more, this restaurant is easy to recommend.
We stumbled upon Grillmarkaðurinn on our last night in Iceland, and we are so glad we did! They absolutely did not disappoint. We had an unforgettable dinner with over-the-top, excellent customer service. They made my husband’s birthday so special, and our server, Daria, was a 5-star standout who made us feel completely welcome. Highly recommend!
The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. The server was kind and very funny with helpful pairing recommendations. The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere. It was very expensive but at least you enjoyed what you paid for. It was my only time trying horse and it was incredibly good. My travel companion had the cod and it was maybe the best cooked fish we've ever tried. The restaurant does serve some animals that have a vulnerable status (such as puffin) which I would strongly encourage you to avoid simply for basic conservation reasons.
The food are absolutely stunning! The ingredients are local and of great quality. The cooking is a fusion of japanese style and very refined seasoning. We love it! The service from Magdalena was wonderful. Recommend everyone to try the tasting menu which is of good value, and you may try very local and Icelandic ingredients such as whale steak, char and reindeer.
Such a variety in the tasting menu. Great worth of money as an Icelandic restaurant. Most of the dishes are asian fusion. And the staffs including Rae are very professional and friendly. Service is good.
