Reviews
Great location to have some food and relax listening to birds and nature but food is very low quality, beef is reheated, bread is old, salad ingredients just don't work together also no dressing at all, badly designed. Service at the till was great but not so much from a person who was delivering the food, very abrupt. For what you get price is too high..
The place is very nice, but the food doesn’t meet expectation. The staff did not know how to make a banana mohito which is the first position on the drinks menu. Finally arrived after half an hour. The coffee was very bitter- I never sugar my drinks, so I know it wasn’t the normal bitter-y taste. Probably burned milk. Me and my sister ordered pancakes. They came burned. Fortunately the girl from stuff was nice and offered us more pancakes. I think they were a bit scared to burn them again though, as they tasted just raw- hopefully they weren’t lol. Also for some reason they came on one plate, which was strange, but didn’t bother us that much. The club sandwich was fine, though definitely overpriced. Definitely a strange experience. The place is very nice so it’s quite a shame we are probably not going to visit anymore.
Café Flóra, located inside the Reykjavík Botanical Gardens, is one of the most charming and refreshing cafés in the city. Surrounded by lush greenery, colorful flowers, and the peaceful atmosphere of the gardens, it offers visitors a unique escape from the urban buzz of downtown Reykjavík. The moment you step inside, you feel a sense of calm and connection to nature, which makes the experience quite memorable. The café is known for its light and seasonal menu. Many of the herbs and vegetables used in the dishes are grown in the surrounding gardens, which adds a fresh and authentic touch to every plate. The selection includes soups, fresh salads, open sandwiches, pastries, and delicious cakes, alongside good coffee and refreshing drinks. On weekends, they also serve a satisfying brunch that perfectly complements the relaxed atmosphere. One of the strongest aspects of Café Flóra is its atmosphere. Whether you sit inside the greenhouse with soft natural light or outdoors among the plants, the environment feels cozy and uplifting. It is the kind of place where you can linger with a book, meet friends for a casual meal, or simply take a break during a stroll through the gardens. While the menu may not cater to those seeking heavy, traditional Icelandic meals, it perfectly suits visitors who appreciate lighter, fresh options. Overall, Café Flóra is not just a café, but a destination where nature, food, and relaxation blend seamlessly. A must-visit for anyone in Reykjavík looking for a peaceful and inspiring spot.
