⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Messinn was one of the highlights of our trip to Reykjavik. The food was absolutely outstanding, and the quality of the ingredients really stands out. The Arctic Char Pan is an absolute must-try. It was perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and easily one of the best seafood dishes we’ve had. Every dish we ordered was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. The restaurant has a warm, lively atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. A tip for anyone planning to go: make a reservation in advance, as the restaurant gets very busy, especially during dinner hours. If you’re in Reykjavik and enjoy great seafood and authentic Icelandic cuisine, Messinn is a restaurant you shouldn’t miss. Highly recommended!
My favorite meal in Iceland. I ordered seafood pasta and it was amazing. Delicious sauce and plenty of seafood. Others at the table had salmon burger and luxury pan and raved about their meals. Service was attentive and no problems with conversation levels. Make a reservation, you won’t be disappointed
We ordered the creamy lobster soup, Icelandic Plokkfiskur and salmon and loved all of them. All dishes were very fresh and flavorful. The soup was less spicy than the ones we had in other places in Iceland, so the natural flavors of the seafood ingredients stand out more. Would highly recommend! Be sure to make a reservation before you come!
i have plokkfiskur as it's an Icelandic dish and artic char that recived good comment from the Google map and the recommendation from the waitress surprisingly i think theplokkfiskur is so good but the char is too salty it's still not bad but i mean it's really salty i don't know if it's just my individual dish go wrong having a little bit too much salt in it or it's supposed to be like that...? anyway i recommend the plokkfiskur but not the char if you intend to try it, maybe ask them to put less salt in it and it will be perfect the honey with the char is actually tasty i think, just the salt thing dessert is good, not a must try but you can try it if you want, no disappointment
I had only one day and wanted to try 3 of their dishes so I decided to take away with me. The place is walkable distance from Harpa concert hall. It's small rustic place. The girl who served me was nice but over all staff was a bit rude and non courteous.. food was fresh but little bland. I was expecting seafood pasta to be thick and creamy but it was watery and so was Code fish pan.. The take away boxes should have been suitable for these types of dishes but the boxes were suitable for dry stuff like Burger so all sauces leaked in the bag. It was a bit disappointing after paying 180 CAD for just 3 dishes. The paper bag was very small and I had to hold 2 separate bags which was difficult to walk around in extremely chilly and windy weather outside. There were no disposable spoons or forks with take away food. If they are in tourist area they should have more welcoming staff and should have better serving utensils and take away boxes. Overall food was fresh but a bit less flavorful for me compared to other places I explored during my trip.
