If you are looking for the absolute best spa experience, check out this luxury resort in the heart of Reykjavík, with thematic saunas & steam rooms, massages, seawater hot tubs, hot and cold baths, a world-class gym and a heated outdoor olympic-size swimming pool!

Located in Laugardalur (Pool-Valley) in Reykjavik, this unique spa resort is in a league of its own in a country that is already renowned for its geothermal pools and spas.

Laugar Spa has six different saunas & steam rooms of different temperatures, each with their own theme and fragrance. You can relax to the soothing sounds of birds or a babbling brook, to the starry sky or the rising sun, or step into the next room to sit in a log cabin in the Austrian mountains. In the different rooms you will breathe the calming and sensuous atmosphere of lavender, lemon or peppermint, to name only a few.

For further relaxation, amble from the steam rooms over to the hot seawater Jacuzzi. The jacuzzi is filled with seawater which has seeped into the ground to be naturally heated by volcanic subterranean forces, before being pumped up into the jacuzzi to be enjoyed at your leisure. The combination of natural geothermal elements, minerals and the salt in the water works smoothing and healing magic on your skin.

For something a little special, try the custom indoor waterfall or unwind your your tired feet in the custom luxury foot-baths.

When you're falling asleep from the relaxation, freshen up by alternating between hot and cold baths. You can soak in a geothermal pool and then get up to dump ice water on yourself before jumping back into the pool. There is even a ice-water bucket big enough for a person to climb into, for the very brave!

Since you're wide awake now, maybe you want to head on over to the enormous and well equipped gym to get some exercise. Otherwise, you may want to move to the outdoor geothermal pool complex, featuring a heated olympic size swimming pool, a kid's splash pool, a water slide, four more hot tubs and another jacuzzi, as well as another seawater hot tub.

After all that excitement, take a little break at the in-spa café and have a little snack in your bathrobe or towel. Then head on over to the massage clinic for any number of world-changing treatments: detox wraps, facials or hot stone treatments.

Round up your relaxing experience in the relaxation cave, lying on a wooden bench in a perfectly silent room, aside from the quietly roaring fire. You will never feel more relaxed in your life than after a day at Laugar Spa.
