Verbúð 11 - the Fishing Hut

Verbúð 11 is a family-run restaurant situated a renovated old fishing hut on the Old Harbour in Reykjavík, dating back to 1913. The specialty is, as you might guess, seafood, but they also offer excellent meat-and vegetarian dishes. The fish is provided by a little fishing company next door, owned by the same family, so it's all as fresh as you could possibly imagine. 

Verbúð 11 also serves Icelandic lamb, and wild game when it's available. All the meet served is free-range. All bread is baked on the premises to ensure it's exactly how they like it - healthy, tasty, freshly baked and fragrant.

The restaurant strives to provide the best for children as well as adults, so they don't offer the traditional 'children's menu.' Their philosophy is that children enjoy good food as much as adults do, so all courses come in a 'half-size, half-price' variety.
