You could say that Saffran revolutionized the culinary industry in Iceland when they opened their first restaurant in 2009. From day one they have offered healthy, international, fresh and exotic food at very reasonable prices, made from the freshest Icelandic ingredients and specially imported spices. By not using any white flour or sugar and making their own marinates, they make sure that the food feels as good as it tastes when it's in your system. Today there are three Saffran restaurants in the greater Reykjavik area and they are popular as ever.
On the menu you will find plenty of intriguing and mouthwatering options like healthy pizzas, tandoori dishes, salads, burgers and naanwiches, Saffran's specialty. Try the Piri-Piri naanwich with chicken, avocado pesto, shiraz salad, bell peppers and piri-piri sauce, or the kebab naanwich with minced kebab, yogurt sauce and mixed salad. The burgers are different from what you're probably used to, all served with pumpkin seed naan bread and a whole lot of happiness. The chicken burger with guacamole, tomatoes, leek, frisee salad, chili sambal and yogurt sauce is absolutely delicious. The 400° Tandoori oven will make all your dreams come true, with a side of brown rice, salad and sauce of your choice.
